BOCOM BBM Commitment Letter

Banco BOCOM BBM has developed thanks to the hard work done by men and women throughout its 168 years of history. Recognizing the importance of diversity, the Bank expresses its support for gender equality  to:

  • reinforce its corporate commitment to social responsibility and sustainability;
  • promote a healthy and respectful workplace environment for all, in order to reflect our values for society and our employees;
  • increase the our competitiveness and productivity through an environment of greater diversity;
  • expand the range of talent in the business, encouraging the hiring of women and developing their careers;
  • seek strategies and create conditions to promote women in leadership positions.

We voluntarily embrace the Women’s Empowerment Principles developed by UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact to establish actions for companies to promote gender equality in the workplace.

Equal treatment of women and men is not only the right thing to do, but also the best thing for our business and its development. It brings a plurality of ideas and behaviors, enriching the options for planning and executing our actions.

In pursuit of this goal, BOCOM BBM has set up a Women’s Engagement Committee (WE)to plan internal actions that promote the full development of women’s careers, taking another step in building a corporate environment that ensures equal opportunities for all. We know we are still at the beginning of a long journey, and today we mark the beginning of this pathway towards transformation.
